South Pass

Cassie lost her father in the War Between the States. Now she has to keep her kid brother Jed out of her Uncle Henry's way, and her heartbroken mother's spirits up. A woman—even a war widow—has few rights, so in order to stay together, they make the journey west to the Wyoming Territory. Here they discover the true meaning of suffrage, as well as the danger that follows them to South Pass.
