Defendant Carlton Dale Wall (defendant) appeared in Guilford County Superior Court before Judge Catherine C. Eagles on 19
April 1999. In this hearing (hereinafter first sentencing hearing) defendant faced charges of (1) assault with a deadly weapon
with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, and (2) possession of a firearm by a felon while being an habitual felon.
