Stories from Tagore

Bengali village stories - a postmaster and the orphan who keeps his house, a child sent away to school, a fruit-seller from Kabul and the small girl he befriends - in the plain manner that made Tagore the first non-European to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. He translated much of his own work into English himself.
