Monty was one of the low-life angling fraternity Sedrick had fallen in with while he was shacked up with Avril the ball-breaker. They did not have much in common but kind of complemented each other. Sedrick was an intellectual who read a great deal and spent a lot of time staring into space thinking about the meaning of existence, while Monty was about as bright as your average moron with a matric certificate, an ID and a driver’s license, and was content to just exist. They got along just fine.
