Former police officer Maggie Bennington is more than ready to finally put the police department and the life of a cop behind her, move to a new town and start her own business. But before she leaves, she reluctantly agrees to one last job--going undercover as the bride in a fake wedding to catch thieves who have been robbing wedding parties. Unfortunately pledging to love and honor Detective Griff Murdock--her late father's partner--in a fake ceremony is the hardest assignment she's ever undertaken. She hopes that when the sting operation concludes, she'll never have to see the man--that she has detested for years—ever again. But when the bullets start to fly, Griff is badly injured and the shooter gets away. Not knowing who the would-be killer is or who his real target was, the wedding charade is forced to continue. Maggie suddenly finds herself legally married to a recuperating Griff and trapped inside a secluded cabin where there is no place to escape the growing sexual tension between them. Maggie fears that the greatest danger facing her isn't the killer lurking in the dark woods but falling in love with her dangerous, all-too-real husband.
