Submerged, Northern Currents

The news is abuzz with reports of mermaids. A sure sign the apocalypse is near, so proclaim multitudes on YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter. As most of humanity scrambles to escape the flood waters, others stand their ground in fierce denial of society’s collapse. 

The six friends set out to rescue more people in Sweden, and lose contact with their mer guardians. Near an isolated chain of islands, they discover what lies ahead for our species in a world without ice.
