Sweeney Todd

Sweeney Todd is a Fleet Street barber whose customers have been disappearing. Mrs. Lovett runs a busy pie shop in nearby Bell Yard. A young girl, Johanna Oakley, finds a connection between the two businesses during a search for her missing lover, and discovers the secret ingredient in Mrs. Lovett's pies...


Sweeney Todd first appeared as the villain of the Victorian penny dreadful serial The String of Pearls.  The tale became a staple of Victorian melodrama and London urban legend, and has been retold many times since.  This edition of the classic Gothic horror story contains all 80+ original illustrations.
