Tempest Road

Three years ago, the U.S. Men's soccer team won the FIFA World Cup in stunning fashion--and thanks to two last-minute goals from substitute striker MacLeod.
Now he's with the squad in Panama to kick off qualifying when something bizarre happens. MacLeod wakes up as a captive in an apartment, and is soon being marched across the jungles of Colombia.
How can this happen to an American? How does it happen to a professional whose only crime, he believes, is being good at what he does? Is he completely innocent?
Four disparate thugs--Josh, Cora, Enrique and Arturo--take him farther and farther from civilization, and into danger. The group encounters a number of dark surprises. Soon, as the world holds its breath, it is MacLeod's soccer-hero American lifestyle which is put on trial. But do the villains really have all the answers?
Haunted by a straight-and-narrow past which has left little to chance, MacLeod must embrace the unorthodox if he is to survive. The world around him deteriorates into chaos, and the quest for truth leaves him only one possible exit from Tempest Road.
