The Blue Rubber Albatross

A misshapen blue rubber albatross, meant for the toy factory bin, is rescued by a worker and given to his son. Forgotten on the beach, it is swept into a water cave during a storm. There, it becomes a caretaker for a wounded bird, learning about life. The bird heals and leaves, but the blue rubber albatross is transformed with a heart and wings. Later, the boy is swept into the cave and clings to the albatross for safety. They are eventually rescued, but the albatross is left alone on the beach again. Fearless and in awe of the world, it awaits its next journey. This is a simple children's narrative exploring complex themes of life.
