The Book of Mountains and Rivers

In “The Book of Mountains and Rivers”, Professor Yu said that he thought the Chinese culture has three largest threads of the earth, which can be named the basic spirit of the Chinese culture. According to the sequence of importance, the first spread is the Yellow River; the second is the Yangtze River; and the third one is more complex, in the north of the first two spreads,which is the boundary of four hundred millimeters of rainfall, and also the divide of nomadic and farming civilization.His cultural investigation is actually made along these three spreads.
