During a paddling career spanning 50 years Douglas Brunt has travelled thousands miles in open canoes and kayaks, armed with notebooks, still cameras, and video and sound recording equipment.

Brunt has written, edited, and published several paddling books and documentary videos. He has had a 45-year career in media as a writer, editor, and publisher of a variety of periodicals ranging from a national scuba diving magazine to an international Zen Buddhist journal. Brunt is also a musician, composer and an award-winning playwright.
