Private eye Callie Webber faces the most important investigation of her life when she learns of questionable circumstances surrounding her late husband's death. To make matters even worse, the facts she hopes to uncover could destroy her relationship with her new love, Tom.

Given no choice but to search out the truth regardless, Callie heads south to Virginia, where her husband died, then on to Georgia, where his killer is incarcerated, and finally to Louisiana, where dangers await and a diabolical enemy may be just a breath away.
