Like a lot of witches in her family, Gail is a burn healer. Anonymous people call her, and she alleviates their pain.

In her own life, though, she is stuck. She can't get over her husband's horrifying disappearance a decade ago, right before her eyes. Taken by a demon, in the middle of her living room.

On Halloween, she meets handsome Onyx, a mysterious art dealer trying to make sense of his own heritage. When they feel an instant connection to each other, Gail decides she wants a new start. She needs to put the past to rest.
