A Wolf on the hunt...
Wulfgar Hahn, better known as the Wolf of Braugne, is a man on a mission. Determined to avenge the murder of his brother, he stops at Camaeline Abbey to meet with the Chosen of Camael, goddess of the Hearth. Unfortunately, it appears the Chosen wants nothing to do with him.
A leader in disguise...
Captivated by the Wolf of Braugne despite herself, Lily poses as an unassuming priestess in order to learn more about this ruthless man. But things are not as they seem, and after foiling an assassination attempt, Lily must decide if Wulf is the destroyer from her visions, or the hero of her dreams.
A choice to be made...
As war looms on the horizon, passion sparks between them, but an enduring relationship between a soldier on the march and a leader who reveres hearth and home is impossible—or is it? Among the swirling snows of the winter Masque, the gods and goddesses of the Elder Races dance, and love will find a way...

Nice trip to the world of the elder races
The Chosen by Thea Harrsion is another of her great stories about the Elder Races. Although it has close to nothing to do with the stories I previously read, it is so great to have the chance to go back to this great universe.
Lily form Ys wants to protect her people and their happiness. But she knows that both happiness and safety are controlled by one decision, made by her. She has visions of a wolf and a tiger. One brings her love and safety to her people, the other one brings destruction. When the wolf appears on her doorstep, she has to make a decision.
As always, the book is easy to read, perfect for a cold evening with a hot chocolate. The story flows nicely, although the outcome is foreseeable form the first few pages. The characters are well described and when the story ended, I was disappointed, feeling as if something was missing. Maybe Thea Harrison writes a sequel? But all in all it was a good book. I give four out of five stars.
