Ester Woods has set up a nice life for herself in Boston. She is the owner of the Woods' Academy for Proper Young Ladies and engaged to a nice gentleman. Life is going according to plan. That is until a stranger shows up and threats to expose Ester's deep dark secrets. Secrets that will expose her as a fraud and ruin all she had worked so hard for.

John O'Brian is a Pinkerton Detective and good at his job. When a man shows up and hires John to find the woman who stole his deceased father's shares in an iron company, he sets about finding her.
