The Dual World is a science fiction novella by American author Arthur K. Barnes, first published in 1938.

Tommy Strike wants to catch-’em-alive on the Lost Continent of Venus, but an amazing race of Twins catapult him into double trouble!

This story recounts the adventures on the lost continent of Venus where a strange duality exists.

It is worth mentioning that one of the main characters is the female captain of a ship. Not so often seen in fiction from the 1930s.

The Dual World was first published in Thrilling Wonder Stories, June 1938.

Arthur Kelvin Barnes (1909-1969) was an American science fiction author. Barnes wrote mostly for pulp magazines in the 1930s and 1940s.

Barnes was most noted for his vivid and believable portrayals of alien life. As such, he is compared to Stanley G. Weinbaum. Before Barnes (and Weinbaum), SF writers usually portrayed aliens as earth-like monsters, with little originality.
