INTRODUCTION The culturing of mushrooms is environmentally friendly. The problem of air pollution may be avoided by using mushrooms to bioprocess the lignocellulosic waste materials, which may later be used as highly proteinaceous feed for livestock [1]. The mushrooms that are harvested have a high commercial and nutritive value and may be consumed by the grower or sold in the open market for profit [2].
