Saldis Sigurdsdatter thinks it's love. Her cheeks flush, her heart pounds, her breath seizes. After all, Prince Eric is powerful and intelligent and next in line to be High King. His proposal of marriage makes her a princess-to-be. It makes her the happiest girl in all of Norge. She’ll be his doting wife, and she’ll make her father proud. So determined is she, that even when her hope frays and threatens to snap, she clings tight to the dream of him.
