400 years ago the worst witch hunts in Europe occurred in the heart of Franconia.


Namely four prince-bishops of Bamberg and Würzburg, were torturing over 2,000 innocent victims as witches and magicians and burned them afterwards at the stake, on behalf of the Holy Inquisition. 


This is the first documentary about this incredible crime of the 17th century.

More than a dozen specialists helped us to reproduce one of the worst chapters of human religious history.  In 2008 this unknown torture jail, named  Malefiz House, has been declared as a virtual monumental by the german national society of monument protection.
