The Fruit Picker

Sebastian is twenty, gay, and desperate to escape the narrow life he has been living in Germany. When an opportunity to work as a fruit picker in the Australian Outback suddenly presents itself, he takes the chance and leaves everything behind. Among the mango orchards of the Northern Territory, Sebastian discovers a freedom he has never known. But his idyllic new life is shattered when he witnesses something he was never meant to see—and suddenly finds himself in danger. As Sebastian struggles to survive, his journey takes him deep into an Australia far removed from the tourist brochures. He encounters the country's complex legal system, experiences the spiritual traditions of its Aboriginal people, and forms an unexpected connection with Tjandamurra, an Aboriginal man who may hold the key to his survival. What began as a young man's search for freedom becomes a fight for truth, justice and his own life.
