The Kite That Let Go

On a windy seaside meadow in Taitung, where the autumn grass bows toward the Pacific, Grandma makes a kite of persimmon orange and sea green, with a small yellow sun at its heart. High above the coast, the kite watches the gulls drift wherever they please, and begins to resent the thin white string that always draws it back. Then one gusty afternoon, the knot slips. A quiet, bilingual picture book for grown-ups about love, freedom and trust: a gentle reminder that a string is not a cage. It is love, held steady and let out with trust, so that the ones we hold can rise.
