THE LAST ENEMY

The Last Enemy is a powerful and deeply personal memoir by Richard Hillary, a young Royal Air Force pilot who fought during the Battle of Britain. Written with courage, honesty, and remarkable sensitivity, the book offers a vivid account of aerial combat, sacrifice, friendship, and the psychological impact of war.

After being seriously wounded when his aircraft was shot down, Hillary endured severe burns and a long, painful period of recovery. His experiences in hospital and his struggle to return to flying reveal both the physical suffering of war and the determination of the human spirit.
