A psychic girl from the slums of Rio arrives in London with the intention of making her fortune very quickly. Passionate and feisty, she instead falls in love with a handsome London entrepreneur and becomes his live-in girlfriend. But an error of judgement from his past is about to catch up with him in spectacular fashion, leading first to betrayal and then to violence, and survival will depend on her summoning up all her street cunning and courage.

Set against a vividly painted and exciting backdrop of Brazil, Germany and England, this is a story that will surprise, shock and…delight.

About the author: M. K. Bates was born in London, where he still lives. After reading psychology at university, he embarked on a world wide quest for the meaning of life, during which time he studied and worked with some of the greatest sages and thinkers of our time. He abandoned the search after 10 years, in order to start work as an accountant and raise a family. But whatever else he was doing, he always wrote, an eclectic mix of humour, spiritual insights, romance, sex and gangsters, all with the primary purpose of entertaining the reader. After many short stories, poems and articles, The Little Girl of the Favela is his first full-length book. He is currently working on the sequel, set four years later.
