The Mine

It's 1986 – Walker Bocek is stuffing hundred dollar bills into his boot; Jessie Penelli is trying to hold on to her dignity; Harry Ames is heading home to meet his lover. Meanwhile, young Terry Baker is going through the worst of all nightmares, and he's not even sleeping.

The Mine is set in a decaying coal town in Pennsylvania, a small town full of gossip, a town that's been keeping one dark secret for decades, where children grow up learning not to go to the mines.

No one asked what happened to the three friends when they were young and no one is asking what's been happening to the children of Laurel for decades. No one, that is, until Walker, Jessie and Harry are drawn together by their best friend, Josie, who is asking.

Going home means facing demons, real and imagined, and when they face them, the old friends learn how much reality and imagination have in common and how they lead them to the darkest places of the town, the people, and the dreaded mine.
