The Mountain

In the ruins of Atlanta, after humans and robots have nearly finished killing each other, two brother squirrels are born near a broken wall. Walnut and Twigbud are nearly old enough to fend for themselves when their mother is taken by a hawk. These two brothers go on a journey across the broken city to climb the Mountain, and speak to the Great Spirit that made squirrels the first of all creatures, to learn why they suffer.

They will gather a tribe of squirrels, face hardships and dangers, and rise together to the top of the Mountain, where they will face their uncertain future. From this journey, squirrel society will rise up in these ruins, and they will be the next great stewards of the earth.
