The Note

It's nearly time I do the correct manly-man thing and get a manly-man check up. The story begins by explaining this all-too-common problem in men but quickly shifts gears into comedic "horror." (tongue in cheek) I reflect upon a time that I once had this type of exam. You see, twenty years ago, my best friend "forced" me to go out drinking and "kept" me out way too late. A few hours of sleep later, and I woke up five hours late for a job for that I had just started a week earlier. Since I was so new, I'd probably get fired for being a no call/no show. So, when I woke up, I immediately rushed to the Emergency Room to "invent" an illness and get a doctor's note to save my job.
However, as my not-so-quite-brilliant plan unfolded, I never expected what would happen next. . . .
