In 1970, young Dave Lawson travels to 'swinging' Britain to shed the burden of a troubled youth. Recovering from a serious road accident in Scotland, he falls into an unlikely relationship and experiences first-time love and acceptance.

Two years on, after an attempt on his life at a UK rock festival,
that romance ends in a tragedy he fights to forget.

Dave returns to Australia and the turmoil of his past.
Yet, in the ruins of 1974 cyclone-ravaged Darwin, he again finds romance and release.

But fate hasn't finished with Dave. Decades later, on the cusp of the new millennium, the sudden visit of a Scottish lawyer to Queensland threatens to expose shocking secrets.
