The Poems of Browning is the first collected edition to be based on the earliest printed texts, and to present these texts in order of their composition.Together, volumes I and II provide an authoritative and accessible tribute to this great poet.
Volume I, 1826-1840 traces Browning's career up to the writing of Sordello. It includes his only surviving juvenilia: The Dance of Death and The First-Borm of Egypt; Pauline, his first anonymous publication, and Paracelsus, the poem which made his literary reputation.

Excellent Text But Not an E-Book But A Photocopy
What makes the Longman Annotated English Poets so outstanding is their enormous amount of annotations.
So typically the printed layout has a small portion of text at the top of a page and the related notes at the bottom and if necessary on the subsequent pages. Moreover, the annotations - unlike footnotes - are not referred to by a pointer from the text, instead they refer to line numbers in the poem.
This type of layout seems to be a challenge to the prevailing ebook formats. In other cases that I have seen (Kindle; ibook versions of of other volumes of this very edition of Browning‘s poems) the problem is simply evaded by first printing all of the poem‘s text, then printing all of the annotations, which renders the ebook utterly unreadable. Imagine 5000 lines of Sordello with thousands of annnotations : Nobody could read this by flipping back and forth on the iPad. So in this case it was decided to photograph all pages of the physical book and publishing it as … what? A pdf?
It does even seem to be that: You cannot mark anything, not even scribble in it with Apple Pencil!
Dear Apple developers: at least THAT should be made possible here.
As it is, I cannot recommend buying this and regret having paid 45€ for it.
