Ruferus, a plane marked by its human-like race of beings known as the Deuterians. Thalland City, the epicentre of economic and cultural power in Ruferus, has worn the scars of the demonic invasion for thirty years. Those scars have been ripped open by the enigmatic half-blood son of the demon lord Azmodeus, a man known only as Jared Ney. Calling the demonic influence to his power, Jared seeks to complete what his father began: the total destruction and subjugation of the world of Ruferus, starting with the abduction of a popular Thalland City songstress.

Amidst the otherworldly forces called to the metropolis, Ruferus' saviours of the generation past still stand against Jared, fighting a clandestine war against his demonic and mortal agents. The war spills into the streets when a rival demon arrives from Azmodeus' home plane, and brings with him a force that threatens to tear Thalland City apart.
