The Shadow on the Stairs

Harry and his partner Shane are drawn into another complex case when attorney Roger Anderson is found dead, seemingly from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. But no one who knew Anderson believes he killed himself. So, was his death a suicide, or was it murder?

During the ensuing investigation, Boston Homicide Detective Tom Yates bends to pressure from his boss and wraps up the case quickly. Yet his instincts keep telling him that the case was closed prematurely… but his hands are tied.

Then Roger Anderson's widow hires Harry and Shane to find out what really happened and clear her husband's name. Although they have no idea of the peril they are about to encounter, the two detectives follow every lead as they uncover truths that many people would prefer stay hidden.
