Summer on Martha’s Vineyard is ending and newly hired investigative consultant Kyra Gibson is still healing from injuries that nearly killed her in July. She’s determined to pass her field test and prove she belongs with her partner, Tarek Collins, and his team at Greyscale Security. But when the butchered bodies of two beautiful young women are found in the shallows of Sengekontacket, the island’s reputation and peace are threatened. Kyra and Tarek join the murder investigation.

When all leads point to the elusive yacht culture surrounding the island, Kyra and Tarek are assisted by their friend, Chase Hawthorne. All three are pulled into the exclusive world of the ultra-wealthy, where Chase grew up and struggled to escape. Rules don’t apply. Money buys power and influence. Devotion is sometimes paid in blood, and murder is only the beginning.

As they narrow the pool of suspects, the killer eyes a bigger prize, and soon Kyra and Tarek are racing the clock to save Chase and other innocents. Kyra fears she may cross a line and damn her soul.
