The Shattered Passage

Driven from the anchorage, the surviving pirate ships depart with uneven loads, damaged gear and crews already weakened by occupation and battle.

The vessels remain under one command, but they no longer possess equal speed, strength or endurance. Every attempt to restore formation creates a new burden elsewhere. Behind them, the recovered outpost supplies their pursuers with evidence and a base for immediate movement.

As the passage narrows and the squadron fragments, Vane and Rooke must decide which obligations can still be honoured when common survival may depend on separation.

The Shattered Passage is intelligent maritime historical fiction about withdrawal under pursuit, damaged fleet movement and the final division of a pirate organisation.
