Blythe has been enjoying life at the palatial Lys Alabain home in the capital metropolis of Salemi. A rare "halfie"—half human, half probably dragon—she has been working as an acrobat in her family's circus. Keeping her family happy, just as she's always done.

But is that really enough? Harrick, head of security for the Lys Alabains, suspects not. Hopes not, actually, just as he hopes Blythe's halfie nature doesn't exclude the possibility of romance with this petite firecracker.
