Suffering strange blackouts, a small town boy from the Midwest is visited by ancient souls on a mission. As the reader follows the life of Bobby Volt, the window to another reality is opened. Spirits attempt to thwart the dangerous and dark destiny of Bobby's brother, and lead their own mysterious existence as well; all while interacting through an unexpected portal. Bobby, his friends, a mixed bag of souls, and a very atypical family accompany the reader to an extraordinary climax.
