The Sunriver Murders

Road rage or calculated slaughter? On a sunny morning in the resort community of Sunriver, who would turn a shotgun on a respectable older man driving a Mercedes? Deschutes County Sheriff's Detective, Carl Breuninger, is left with no witnesses, no motivation, no murder weapon, and no suspects.

The victim's wife seeks guidance from her kindhearted art instructor, Leon Martinez. Leon has painted a watercolor of the crime scene, only to discover that he has connections to the victim, multiple suspects, and the murder weapon. A clue Leon does not even realize he has leads Breuninger to an ex-con who just might, in a devil's bargain, help Breuninger identify the shooter. 

As a forest fire rages through Sunriver, a ruthless killer threatens Leon, his wife, and his friends. Who lit the fire and will it destroy any chance of Breuninger nailing down justice?
