It is the end of the eighteenth century. France is ruled by controllers, who are blessed with the ability to shape matter at will. Edvard Thermidor was born among them, but he finds out – in the worst possible way – that he is not one of them. Kicked out of his world of privilege, he will discover that everything he knew was but a falsehood built on the backs of a subjugated race.
