The day was too pretty for a burial, as if nature, in its sunny disposition, was taunting anyone trying to mourn. Anna Vangraff waited next to the coffin. She thought about the last time she had seen David Gaines alive. 

Just as the pastor began his service, a woman came wobbling into view. "He's not dead," she screamed. Anna couldn't move in time. The strange woman crashed into the coffin sending it to the ground. The door popped open. The coffin, of course, was empty. 

Anna's journey into her past is just beginning, as she tries to unravel the life of David Gaines, her ex-boyfriend and third guitarist for The Long Players. A person she thought she knew intimately, but with each passing day seems more like a stranger. Adding to the mystery is a fringe environmental organization David may have belonged to, along with a break-in at the world's largest nuclear grade uranium holding facility in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
