Putting pen to paper for this column, I reviewed the last two September articles I wrote for the Advocate. My first thought: Have I been writing this column that long? And my second: I've developed a tradition of noting that autumn is my favorite time of year and reflecting on the symbolism of change in our industry. So, the adage, "The more things change; the more they stay the same," seems appropriate. Except that this has been a unique and momentous month so far: Who'd have expected some of the news we've seen in the past few weeks! This month is measured with landmark events. On Sept. 10, the Professional Insurance Agents of New York State Inc. officially elected its new administration. D. Scott Liebert, CIC, now leads the association as president. Congratulations to Scott and the newly installed officers are in order, and the Chinese proverb: "May you live in interesting times," is a fitting toast to his presidency.
