Together with old school friend Ian, he sets off on the same bike ride - from Bristol to Bordeaux - that they attempted all those years ago.

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
This is a quality romance novel—cute without being corny and relatively straightforward while possessing an awful lot of heart, humour and quality writing. At 60 years old, Simon finds himself back in touch with his first love. Sylvie was his French penpal at school, but they never did meet—now Simon is determined to make good on their chemistry as teens. His mission is slightly complicated by the decision to reach Sylvie by recreating the aborted Bristol-to-Bordeaux cycle ride he and best friend Ian (also along for the journey now) attempted. What follows is a deeply uplifting story that’s romantic, yes, but also shines a considered light on our relationships with friends and children and childhood memories. A thoroughly charming read.
