The Winds of War

When middle class Cathy falls in love with working class Joseph, a soldier, she dare not tell her family, who want her to marry into the wealthy Callingham family. Class and the war loom between them and happiness. When Joseph is killed in France and Cathy discovers she is pregnant, she has little option but to accept young Henry Callingham's proposal made as he goes off to war, despite the fact that she doesn't love him.
