Publisher Description
The RMS Titanic, set sail from Southampton on the 10th April 1912, headed for New York City. This eBook tells the story of what happened on the night of the 14th April 1912, the devastating effects afterwards and why the Titanic holds such a memorable place in history.
The Titanic was a great ship measuring over 882 feet long with top speeds of 24 knots and could carry over 3547 passengers and staff. Thomas Andrews, head of Harland and Woff designs, designed the Titanic to have sixteen compartments in the hull; this enabled the ship to stay afloat even if two of the middle compartments or four compartments at the front of the ship flooded, this gave the Titanic the nick name ‘The Unsinkable’.
