Prominent Miami plastic surgeon Raymond Peters is still grieving the loss of his wife Rebbie when his childhood friend Pepe Orozco, whom he hasn’t seen in thirty years, reappears in his life with a shocking secret. Sonia, the teenaged sweetheart Raymond left behind in Cuba, was pregnant. Her son, now terminally ill, wants to meet his father before he dies.
Torn between guilt and apprehension, Raymond travels to Cuba with Pepe and is sucked into an unbelievable conspiracy with far-reaching political implications. He’s in Havana, really, to perform plastic surgery on Fidel Castro and Pepe, to switch their respective identities. As Raymond is forced by Castro to do the surgery or else, he realizes his life is in danger and he can trust no one. The resourceful surgeon must use all his wits to escape with Sonia and his son, but once he does, he encounters his most daunting challenge yet: the lethal Marcela, a dangerous assassin.
