Twenty Studies for Upright Bass

Originally written for Rob MacKillop, a seasoned musician and Mel Bay author who recently added the upright bass to the list of instruments he plays—this collection of studies falls neatly into a chamber jazz-meets-contemporary classical niche.


Composed by the prolific Belgian multi-instrumentalist, Gilbert Isbin, these melodic and rhythmically challenging, yet accessible studies will be of tremendous sightreading benefit to professional players and students alike.


Written in standard bass clef notation only, many of these pieces can be played either bowed or pizzicato, and so lend themselves to the electric bass as well.
