Type Rider

Type Rider: Cycling the Great American Poem chronicles Maya Stein's 2012 "Type Rider" project, a 40-day cycling journey from Amherst, Massachusetts to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, during which Maya towed a typewriter behind her and invited the people she met to contribute their words to a growing, collaborative collection of writing. This book includes blog entries, select photographs, and the writings of that appeared on her typewriter. "Type Rider" also chronicles Maya's progress through the development of the project on Kickstarter (a crowd sourcing platform) and features stories prior to and during the project launch, the challenges and successes Maya encountered, and the lessons she learned along the way.
