Kara scrapes by as a hostess in one of Nocturne's many pleasure dens, a vampire nest buried in the catacombs. In a dying world, every day bleeds into the next. Then a stranger arrives who could grant her fondest wish—to be human.

Lucien is a pureblood vampire and a powerful telepath, born into darkness and never once seen the sun. Sent to Nocturne on a mission from his queen, he enters the territory of a rival clan seeking an alliance against the faeries. What he gets is anything but.

When betrayal turns a negotiation deadly, he finds an unlikely friend in a den hostess with a grand request: wipe her memories. All of them. It would erase her identity, her entire life. A cruel thing, but he might just oblige if it means finding a way out of Nocturne once the faeries come knocking.
