The quiet little town of Cougar Rock, Idaho had been a safe place whose greatest worries were the dust and the mosquitoes. Then it hit – and everything happened at once. One man missing without a trace, another one dead, and no one with any answers. At the same time, someone tries to burn down the West Fork Hotel. A beautiful young blond shows up out of nowhere and buys the fire-damaged hotel. Domingo Wells is called in to be sheriff but most of the clues are underground. Some of them in the grave of the dead man, the rest still moving around down there.
