Unlikely Alliances

"Welcome to Bourne Valley, a town located on the mouth of the River Bourne, where it burrows its way through the Downs and into the English Channel. Originally a busy fishing port and market town, it's now mainly a leisure and tourist resort. Most of the hotels and restaurants are located in the Brightside district, which consists mainly of three long, parallel streets, one fronting the sea, on the foothills of the Eastern Downs.
Bourne Valley University is the town's biggest employer. The main campus of the university is in downtown Bourne Valley, but its prestigious management and research centre, Flourishing, which includes a small botanic garden, is up nearer the Downs. Downshire County Council's civic hall is also in BourneValley.
Westward from the river estuary, the Western Downs start to rise. From its well-maintained pathways, the walker has a spectacular view over the Channel, and at some points, an equally memorable view inland over the Downshire countryside and New Bourne Forest.
