Maci Clark has never forgiven Cade Harrington for putting the brakes on her big story two years ago. She knows it would have made her career. Instead, she’s stuck writing for a newspaper that is struggling to stay afloat. Even worse, her life is floundering just as much. He’s told her no so many times in the months since then she’s lost, count. So, when she gets word that Cade has had a change of heart, she’s immediately wary. But the reporter in her knows he’s up to something and the only way she will find out is to agree to the interview.
 
Cade Harrington has always been a private man. It’s the reason he says no when Maci Clark approaches him for an interview. Well, one of them. The other is he’s never had such a strong reaction to woman, especially one he’s just met. He’d turned her down so that he could ask her out. But Maci is so ticked at him, she ignores any attempt he makes to ask her out. In a move of desperation, he gives her what she wants, so that he can have what he desires. He soon realizes that letting the cat out of the bag is a whole lot easier than putting it back in.
