Vanishing Act is the story of marine biologist Dr Hinemoa O'Reilly; smart, telegenic, Maori. Her television show is syndicated across the globe, earning her fame and millions in royalties and endorsements. When she visits the waters around New Zealand, filming the Humpback whale migration her team discover a sub-species of the world's rarest dolphin. The world's media, politicians and environmental activists all converge on the small fishing town of Kawhiamatu for their moment in the sun.
