Veronica is back in Kent, Ohio after a decade of surviving the abyss. Once free she falls out of the frying pan and into the fire.

The Cabal Ministry accuses Veronica and Lucian of spreading an illness that rapidly ages vampires and for kidnapping fae.

To make matters worse, when Veronica took refuge in the abyss she left behind a scorned lover and vengeful priest.
